2022 GMA USA: Kofi Kinaata crowns Artiste of the Year

Top Ghanaian artiste, Martin King Arthur, known as Kofi Kinaata, has been crowned the Artiste of the Year at the just-ended Ghana Music Awards USA.
The Takoradi-based emerged winner of the prestigious award at the event which took place in the Lincoln Theater on 769 E Long Street in Columbus, Ohio, the United State of America.
The Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA) 2022 is designed to recognise and celebrate Ghanaian entertainers locally and globally.
The motive of the award is to also extend the reach of the Ghanaian music industry both at home and abroad.
The ‘Things Fall Apart’ crooner beat competition from last year’s winner, Diana Hamilton, as well as KiDi, Black Sherif, Kuami Eugene, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy to lay hands on the accolades.

In other categories, female gospel musician Diana Hamilton won the Female Vocalist of the Year and whiles Akwaboah won the Male Vocalist of the Year.
The Most Popular Song of the Year is Okyeame Kwame’s ‘Yeeko’ featuring Kuami Eugene and Epixode for Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.
Kuami Eugene was adjudged the Sound Engineer/Producer of the Year. Also, KiDi swept went home with the Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste of the Year award.
Meanwhile, ‘Kweku the Traveller’ hit maker, Black Sherif won the Hip-hop/Highlife Artiste of the Year and the New Artiste of the Year awards.
