Former Accra Hearts of Oak club legend Bernard Dong Bortey has been appointed as the head coach of the youth team.
His appointment is keen to spearhead the U-14 youth team purposely for development.
The appointment takes effective today, Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
According to the club in a statement, the decision forms part of the club’s restricting program and the renewed focus on youth development.
This was announced in an official club statement signed by the communication team of the Accra-based team.
“As part of his responsibilities, Dong Bortey will assist coach Samuel Nii Noi at the Under 18 level while building the foundational modules to revamp the Under 14 team and they will work closely under the head coach of the senior team Slavko Matic,” the statement announced.
The former winger currently holds a license D coaching certificate of the Ghana Football Association.
He has previously coached lower-division clubs like Wa Yasin FC and Techiman Goldstars FC.
