Black Stars and Brazil Pre-World Cup friendly to be played in France

The Ghana Football Association [GFA] has confirmed that the pre-World Cup friendly match between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Samba boys of Brazil will take place in France.

Confirming the venue in a communique on Monday, September 5, 2022, the GFA indicated that the two teams would face off at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre, France on Friday, September 23, 2022.

The match forms part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Black Stars will thus take on Nicaragua in Spain on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. They will be completing their preparations on Thursday, November 17, 2022, when they come up against Switzerland at the Baniyas Club Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The GFA had earlier noted that the games will help assist coach Otto Addo and his technical team to have enough preparatory grounds for the West African side at the tournament proper.

Ghana is in Group H alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea and will begin their campaign against Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.

The stars will thus return to action four days later with a clash with South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan before wrapping up their group stage match against Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.

However, Brazil, who are five-time World champions will take on Switzerland, Cameroon, and Serbia, having been drawn into Group G.

The 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup kick starts from November 20 to December 18 later this year.
