[BREAKING] Bukom Banku and his son in custody for stabbing a man
An Accra Circuit Court has remanded former Light Heavyweight champion Braimah Issah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, for allegedly assaulting a man.
The prosecution claims that prosecution, Bukom Banku and some pals attacked others in Bukom around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 25.
Ishmael Neequaye, the complainant, awoke from his sleep after hearing noises in the vicinity. As a result, he chose to be the one to ease the tension.
However, the indictment asserts that when Bukom Banku saw the complainant, he broke a bottle and gave it to his son, Mustapha, to impose wounds on Ishmael.
Mustapha obliged and caused wounds on the complainant’s abdomen, who was promptly transported to Korle Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
Attempts to apprehend the boxer and his son were ineffective until they were issued criminal summonses.
The two pleaded not guilty, but presiding court Justice Adelaide Abui Keddey denied bail.
They were remanded to appear in court on Monday, December 19.
Prosper Quaye, 32, is the third accused. During the brawl, he is reported to have destroyed a 32-inch television with a stone.
