CHAN Qualifiers: Black Galaxies progress to final round with a win over Benin

Ghana’s Black Galaxies are into the final round of the 2023 Championship of African Nations Qualifiers (CHAN) after beating Benin 1-0 in the second leg at the Stade de l’Amitie in Benin.
Accra Hearts of Oka’s Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored an 82nd minutes goal which proved to become the only goal of the game.

The victory empowered Ghana to a 4-0 aggregate scoreline over the Beninese after the two legs affairs.
Ghana went into the second leg with a comfortable result having won the first leg in Ghana by 3-0 at Cape Coast.
Goals from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Gladson Awako, and Mohammed Alhassan in Cape coast gave Coach Annor Walker’s side a commanding lead.
They will now face Nigeria in the final round of the qualifiers for a place in the main tournament which is scheduled for January 2023 in Algeria.
The first leg of the game against Nigeria will take place between August 26-August 28, with the second leg coming off between September 2 – September 4, 2022.
