Japanese national arrested in Ghana

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a Japanese national, Morikawa Hikawu following a request by INTERPOL Tokyo.

His arrest followed a revocation of his passport by Japan.

A police statement, the suspect is awaiting his removal from the country after being put before court and remanded into lawful custody.

“The INTERPOL Unit of the Ghana Police Service is working with the Ghana Immigration Service, INTERPOL Tokyo, and the Japanese Embassy in Ghana for his removal,” the statement added.
