A young man whose name is yet to be identified has met his untimely death after a mentally challenged woman stoned him to death in the Greater Accra Region.
The incident reportedly occurred on the afternoon of Monday, August 1, 2022, at the top section of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle interchange in Accra.
A video circulating on social media saw the deceased man lying in a pool of blood with a large stone near his right arm.
According to an eyewitness, the woman struck the deceased, who was a pillion rider on a moving okada on one of the interchange levels.
The eyewitness narrated that the woman pounced on the deceased and proceeded to attack him with the large stone after he fell off the motorbike. It is believed that there were no passers-by at the time of the incident.
However, for the intervention of the Police, an angry mob would have lynched the woman after they charged at her for the crime committed.
The police thus handcuffed her and transported in a police pickup truck bucket. An investigation has commenced to unravel the main cause of the incident.
