Mohammed Kudus powers Black Stars to winning ways

Ghana Black Stars bounced back to winning ways on Monday, November 28, 2022 in the ongoing Qatar FIFA World Cup after defeating South Korea in their second Group game.

Two goals from Mohammed Kudus and one from Mohammed Salisu saw Otto Addo’s side pick up their first points of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Mohammed Kudus scored twice for Ghana to record their first win in Qatar

Ghana took the lead just inside 24 minutes when Mohammed Salisu slotted home from a lose-ball from the Korean.

Few minutes later, Jordan Ayew set up Mohammed Kudus for the game’s second goal and put the Black Stars in a comfortable position before the break.

Back from recess, Ghana looked certain to continue their dominance but failed to find the back of the net in the early stages of the game.

South Korea thus responded to the threat from the Ghanaian side and scored two quick goals in the space of four minutes.

They scored through Gue-Sung Cho’s brace in the 58th and 61st minutes to levelled the score.

Ghana however conjured some magic of attacking football as Mohammed Kudus curled a Gideon Mensah’s cross in the penalty area to restore Ghana’s lead.

Despite late attempts from the Koreans, the game ended 3-2 with Ghana earning a vital win in Group H.

Otto Addo’s side will now face Uruguay in their last game looking to secure qualification to the next stage of the competition.
