Richard Boadu, four others name as Kumasi Asante Kotoko captains

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has named Richard Boadu and four other teammates as the club’s new captain ahead of the start of the yet-to-start 2022/23 football season.

The appointment becomes necessary following a decision from the management of the club to strip the captaincy of Abdul Ganiyu Ishmael.
Ismael Ganiyu who led the reigning Ghanaian champions as the captain last season is closing on leaving the club after he reportedly wrote to the management of the team demanding contract termination.
Meanwhile, other players including Imoro Ibrahim who was part of the team’s captains last season have left the club for greener pasture.
But Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, announced five new players to lead the club ahead of the new season.
Former Medeama SC midfielder Richard Boadu nicknamed ‘Agadas’ will serve as the substantive captain whiles Yusif Mubarik and Danlad Ibrahim will deputize as the first and second captains respectively.
Also, Christopher Nettey and Cameroonian goalkeeper Pouaty Dendoum will serve as the third and fourth deputy captains as well.
