‘They served with dignity and passion’ – Dr. Bawumia eulogises Bibiani MCE and driver

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has commiserated with the family of the late Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).Alfred Amoah, together with his personal driver Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Alfred Amoah, and his driver.
In a message of condolences, the Vice President said that he is saddened by the news of their demise.
According to Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Alfred Amoah and his driver, Samuel Gyasi were dedicated to their duties describing them as ‘dedicated patriots’.
“Sad to hear the death of Hon. Alfred Amoah, MCE for Bibiani Anwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly, and his driver Samuel Gyasi. Both Alfred and Samuel have been dedicated patriots who served with dignity and passion”, Dr. Bawumia wrote on his official Facebook page.
He also prayed that “May the souls of our dear brothers rest in perfect peace.”
The unfortunate incident happened on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at about 5:00 pm.
A police report said, the deceased on board a Nissan Patrol 4×4 with registration No. GC 2060- 18 were traveling from Accra towards Bibiani direction.
On reaching a section of the road at Akim Fisher on the Accra-Kumasi Highway, a Man Diesel Articulated truck with the registration No. AS 4229-X from Kumasi direction veered off its lane and crashed head-on with the Nissan Patrol 4×4.
“The MCE and his driver got trapped in the vehicle and both suspected died on the spot. With the help of the National Fire Service from Bunso and Kibi, the bodies of the deceased were removed and sent to Kibi Government Hospital where they were confirmed [dead] by the Medical Officer on duty.”
