Top Nigerian musician pledge support to Accra Metropolitan Assembly
Renowned Nigerian afro-pop musician Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, better known as Mr. Eazi has pledged his willingness to help develop the Greater Accra Region through the empowerment of Sports.
According to Mr. Eazi who is also a shareholder of Betpawa, said as part of their Corporate Social Responsibilities(CSR), the company wants to support the city to empower the youth through the development of sports.
He made these known when he paid a courtesy call to the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Elizabeth Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey, to discuss sports development in the Ghanaian capital city, Accra.
He believed that not everyone could prosper in life by becoming a musician like himself however, some maybe are gifted with talents such as runners, footballers, and boxers therefore the need to partner with the Assembly to bring development to the people of Accra through sports.
Thus, as a sports betting and online gaming industry that continues to see massive growth, it became significant to demonstrate firm CSR.
He added that his company was looking for projects to align with and commit funds to meet CSR and provide some visibility for its brand in a meaningful way.
“In the past, we have been brainstorming on ways to touch CSR and promote responsible gaming… We want to do something to develop sports in Ghana, hence our recent decision to sponsor the Ghana Premier League,” he said as quoted by the AMA.
Mr. Eazi also expressed his commitment and plans assist the AMA to refurbish some boxing gyms in Accra and also reequip them to help promote boxing in the metropolis.
On her part, the Accra Mayor, Elizabeth Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey, thanked the Nigerian musician for his visit and also welcome his initiative to partner with the city to bring development to its people through sports.
She also called on the musician to support her women’s empowerment agenda, adding that equality for women would benefit generations to come.
